Summer Space Camp

Linwood Library Space Camp is a week long morning camp launching kids into a galaxy of fun and learning! Join Belhaven Ave. School teacher Bonnie Marino, who has been selected to participate in the NASA Space team workshop for teachers, as she shares both her experience and hands on learning supplies from NASA with the camp participants. This camp is free but registration is required.

July 10-13 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

Hands on activities for children ages 8-10.

Learn about NASA’s future missions to Mars, asteroids and beyond

Learn about space flight as well as the science of rocket engineering

Have adventurous tasks to perform while pretending to be an astronaut

REGISTRATION is REQUIRED as class size is limited!

Summer Evening Programs

Thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Linwood Library and our sponsors we are able to provide our summer evening family programs throughout July and August. All programs are free and begin at 7:00 pm.

July 11- Eyes of the Wild – Travis Gayle provides a home for abandoned animals and brings them to us.

July 18-Hawaiian Dancers-Entertainment for the whole family.

July 25-Mad Science: Spin, Pop, Boom! Lots of science fun.

August 1- Linwood’s National Night Out there will be no program.

August 8- Chad Juros -Magician Extraordinaire

August 15-David Darwin Juggler- A show of juggling and comedy.

Classics Book Club

The subject matter for the spring/summer book club will be nature and gardens.

Book Club starts at 10:30 am and movies to be shown at 12:00 pm.

June 16- The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh

July 21- The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver

August 18- Out of Africa by Isak Dinesen-movie to follow discussion

Sept. 16-The Girl With A Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier -movie to follow discussion

Story Time with Miss Jacki

Story hour will resume on Tuesdays only beginning July 11th at 10:15 am.

Lego Club

Lego Club will be meeting Monday evenings beginning July 10th until August 14th at 6:30 pm.

Recommended for ages 6 years and older.
