Books on DVD
We recently purchased 23 books on DVD that you can check out for free. These DVD books are easy to use and offer children an engaging way to develop a love of reading. They are done much like the popular PBS television series, Reading Rainbow. Each disc has 3 to 7 separate books. Some of the best books are in DVD's extras section. In many cases, those books are currently out of print and watching them on DVD may be the only means available to access these wonderful children's stories. Some of the books are viewable in either Spanish or English. All of the books may be viewed either with or without text visible. Some of the discs also have songs. Almost all of these titles are the exact words and images as those
on the actual book.
Don’t forget that you can reserve any book or DVD that is currently checked out to someone else. You can also request from other libraries any book that is not part of Linwood’s holdings. In fact, many of the out of print books are still available in this way. Books are borrowed from other libraries through the ILL. Don’t hesitate to ask a librarian to help you learn how to use ILL process. For a complete of DVD book offerings and descriptions, (click here).
