3D Printer Policy
- The Makery’s 3D printer may only be used for lawful purposes.
- Patrons under 18 must have a parent present in The Makery to approve the 3D print, or a parent must email the print to the librarian.
- The public may not use the 3D printer to create material that is:
- Prohibited by local, state, or federal law
- Property or material belonging to another person or entity without their permission
- Unsafe, harmful, dangerous, or poses an immediate threat to the well-being of others
- Obscene or inappropriate for the Library environment, including weapons
- In violation of intellectual property rights (e.g., copyright, patent, trademark)
- Deemed inappropriate by The Makery staff
- The Makery reserves the right to refuse any 3D print request at its staff’s sole discretion.
- The patron is solely responsible for any violation of copyright, patent, or trademark laws.
- Only designated Makery staff will have hands-on access to the 3D printer.
- Supervision by Makery staff does not imply knowledge or endorsement of the final use of the 3D printed object.
- Only The Makery’s filament may be used in the 3D printer.
- The Makery and Linwood Public Library are not responsible for storing or saving your designs. Patrons must bring their own USB drive or purchase one.
- The Makery does not guarantee completion of print jobs within a specific timeframe.
- The Makery is not responsible for the final appearance of printed objects or for any damages or injury resulting from the use of printed materials.
- Any person who violates these policies shall indemnify and hold harmless the Linwood Public Library, its staff, officers, and volunteers from any third-party claims for damages or legal costs.
