1. A patron must be 18 years of age and older, and their library card must be in good standing.
2. The late fee is $5.00 per day.
3. Wireless service on the Hotspot will be turned off if not returned on the due date.
4. Borrower is limited to checking out one (1) hotspot device at a time.
5. The Hotspot kits are available for checkout at the circulation desk and are checked out like any library material.
6. To best serve all our patrons, the Hotspot cannot be used in place of a personal internet provider. Therefore, the Hotspot is provided for short-term use and can be renewed only once.
7. Checkout period is seven days and not to exceed four checkouts per year.
8. Hotspot may be reserved in advance for a specific checkout date.
9. Patrons will be notified when their Hotspot is available.
10. The Hotspot must be picked up within 48 hours, or the checkout will be cancelled.
11. The Hotspot must be returned in person to the circulation desk at the Linwood Public Library. It may not be placed in the book drop for concerns of damage or lost parts.
12. Patrons are responsible for costs associated with loss or damage of Hotspot and/or cords, adapters, cases, etc.
    • Hotspot: $100
    • Charger cord replacement: $5
    • USB adapter replacement: $5
    • Case replacement: $20
13. Ten devices can be connected to the Hotspot at one time using the Wi-Fi password. (Signal power can be an issue.)
14. The Hotspot cannot be used outside the United States or where T-Mobile coverage is not available.
15. A deposit of $20 is required at checkout and will be returned at check-in.
16. The library is not responsible for unencrypted data transmission or information accessed with use of the Hotspot.
17. If a patron is found to have violated any of the above policies, subsequent checkout privileges may be suspended.
